Good Times in the Snow

Good Times in the Snow

Well, after a slippery start we made it to Lake Arrowhead for our Winter Break this past February. A family from the school district lent us their beautiful home for a week. We got to experience real winter, mountain living. Don and Garrett muscled up and showed how to work a snow shovel. The girls made snowmen throughout the neighborhood. I stayed in my sweats and kept the fire going, the hot chocolate brewing, and the mac and cheese...cheezy! It was a perfect get away. Sledding right out the front door, night hikes, and our first use of CHAINS! Fun Stuff!

Aging Gracefully

Well, the things we do to ourselves because we think we are still young....okay, it is just me. I couldn't just let the ball hit the floor without trying to get it. That would be wrong.

volleyball tournaments

Garrett and Emilie had their first tournament on Saturday, January 10th. Because I coach Emilie's team I didn't get to see Garrett's tourney, but heard he played well in spite of the three losses. Emilie's day went a little different. She played great and her team won all 3 of their games. She has got a great group of girls on her team.

She had her second tournament on Saturday, January 24th. They had a repeat of their first tournament and went 3 and 0. They are now 6-0. It is so much easier when they just win. Emilie plays back row and is not afraid to hit the floor for the ball. She also has a great back row attack. I get a kick out of watching her! She is my girl, even though she chose to wear her dad's football number.

I played in my first tournament since Baker. It was at Long Beach State in the Pyramid. What an adrenaline rush. I had so much fun. We tied for first in our pool, but lost in the first round of playoffs. It was a fun day.

beautiful world

Was on my way out the door and had to stop to share the beautiful sunset over Catalina tonight. Never gets old!

Family Austin goes to Washington D.C.

Well, we all went to Washington D.C. in the fall. What a beautiful time of year to visit our nations capital. It was breathtaking. We had a private tour of the West Wing, saw all the monuments in the day and the night, went on a haunted ghost tour, and loved every minute of it.

2008 Christmas card photo

Garrett and Emilie have started playing club volleyball for a new club called 900sqft. Hence the sweatshirts. Kristin is all bunched up looking cozy in my sweatshirt. She claims that she is going to play basketball (give her time). Their first tournament is this Saturday. Good Luck!

more Christmas photos

Garrett is 13 now and enjoying 7th grade. Emilie and Kristin are the best of friends and keep eachother in and out of trouble.

Christmas in our new home

We have decided to join the masses and become bloggers for 2009. We are going to start slowly by sharing our Christmas morning in our new, wonderful, fantastic, gorgeous home through photos.
